Assam Police Arrest Bangladeshi: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Monday (February 17, 2025) that the Assam Police has arrested two Bangladeshi citizens and has been sent back to the border. CM Sarma also shared a picture of both Bangladeshis.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Bisw Sarma shared a picture of both Bangladeshi intruders on X on X, “The Assam Police caught two Bangladeshi citizens and sent them to the border while keeping a strict monitoring on the India Bangladesh border.” CM Sarma also has the details of both the citizens of the lion, one of which is 23 -year -old, Riyaz Mulla and the other is 23 -year -old, Shakib Mandal.

Four Rohingya and one Bangladeshi citizen also arrested
Even before this, the Assam Police sent back five people who illegally infiltrate the Indo-Bangladesh border on Friday (February 14, 2025). These five people were arrested by the Sri Bhoomi police, out of which four were Rohingya and one Bangladeshi citizen. The Assam Chief Minister gave this information in the X post. These intruders were identified as Abdul Razzaq, Saddam Hussain, Muktul Hussain, Nurul Amin and Hafsa Bibi. On 13 February, a Bangladeshi woman named Rupa Sati was sent across the border by the police.

305 intruders sent back in the last seven months
The attitude of Himanta Bisw Sarma government with Bangladeshi infiltrators has been strict. A total of 305 infiltration Bangladeshis have been sent back in the last 7 months. So that the Border Security Force has intensified the deployment within 1 thousand 885 km radius on the Indo-Bangladesh border in North East India. In view of the unstable condition in Bangladesh last year, this monitoring has been tightened. After the fall of Sheikh Hasina government, the Assam Police is also on high alert to prevent any kind of illegal infiltration.
