Shubhanshu’s sister Shuchi said- “The most beloved thing of this mission was that Shubhanshu’s 6-year-old son was given the responsibility of choosing a toy. First he expressed his desire for a dinosaur, but he could not be available. After this, Hans was chosen as an alternative. Then this swan was associated with a deep emotional and cultural meaning.”
He said, “Our family felt that Hans can not just a toy, but a carrier of Indian culture and knowledge. Shubhanshu named it ‘Joy’ and added it to Saraswati Mata’s ride. Its message is that when we are going into space, we are taking knowledge, dignity and Indian traditions.”
