Teams of NDRF, SDRF, ITBP, Army and BRO are engaged in the rescue of laborers.
24 hours passed in Chamoli, Uttarakhand. Evely came around 7 am on Friday. A total of 57 people were working in the Border Road Organization (BRO) project, out of which two people were on leave. 55 people were hit in Evely, out of which 33 people have been evacuated. 22 are still stranded.
The team of Army, ITBP, BRO, SDRF and NDRF is doing rescue operations. The weather remains a challenge. Air ambulance could not be arranged. The helicopter is also unable to fly. Army’s Mi-17 is on the helicopter stand bye. As the weather is fine. The rescue operation will intensify.
The incident took place in Mana village of Chamoli, 3 km from Badrinath. The laborers are trapped in the snow of up to 6 feet at an altitude of more than 3200 meters. All laborers were present in 8 containers and a shed during the accident.
