Retired Judge B.B. on Tuesday (August 19, 2025) on behalf of India alliance for the post of Vice President. The name of Sudarshan Reddy has been announced. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge gave information about this by holding a press conference. During this time, Sharad Pawar and many big leaders of the alliance were present with him.
Former Supreme Court judge and Lokayukta of Goa B. Sudarshan Reddy was born in 1946 in Andhra Pradesh. He comes from a farmer family. He wrote his studies in Hyderabad and received a law degree from Osmania University in 1971.

Who is B. Sudarshan Reddy?
B. Sudarshan Reddy was nominated as an advocate at the Andhra Pradesh Bar Council in Hyderabad on 27 December 1971. He has practiced in writ and civil matters in Andhra Pradesh High Court. He served as a government lawyer in the High Court during 1988-90. During 1990, he has also served as an additional permanent lawyer of the Central Government for a period of 6 months.
B. Sudarshan Reddy also served as a legal advisor and permanent lawyer of Osmania University. He was appointed a permanent judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court on May 2, 1995. He was then appointed as the Chief Justice of the Guwahati High Court on 5 December 2005. Apart from this, he was appointed as a judge of the Supreme Court of India on 12 January 2007, from where he retired on 8 July 2011.
