A shocking case has come to light in Banda district. In the Chowk market of the city Kotwali area, a medical store shopkeeper was cheated by a Baba and his partner on the pretext of tantra-mantra. Baba took precious rings from the shopkeeper by reading the mantra and luring the mantra and escaped by dodging.
Both rings absconding
The victim shopkeeper Santosh Kumar told the police that a person had come to take medicines at his shop disguised as Baba. After purchasing the medicine, he told the shopkeeper that he would worship for his progress and for this both his rings are needed. Santosh came in confidence and took off his rings and gave it to Baba.
Bike absconding
Baba wrapped the rings in a ₹ 100 note, put a red vermilion on it and kept on reciting some mantras and kept blowing it near Gullak. Then he called Santosh out of the shop and while handing him ₹ 110, he said that chanting the mantra 101 times will lead to his welfare. After this, Baba escaped quietly on a bike with one of his companions.
By the time the shopkeeper could understand something, Baba had gone and his rings were also missing. The victim immediately contacted the Kotwali police and lodged a complaint. In this case, the police immediately took action and started investigation. CCTV footage is being searched and three teams have been formed to search for the accused.
DSP Rajveer Singh said that a cheating tahrir has been found from a shopkeeper in Mardan Naka area. Precious rings have been grabbed on the pretext of tantra-mantra. A lawsuit has been registered in the relevant sections and the case will be revealed soon. This fraud scandal has created a sensation in the area and people are now appealing to the thugs to be vigilant.
