Payal Kapadia’s film did not get the award in Best Not in the English Language Film category. The award has been received by a French-Spanish film ‘Emilia Perez’, including Hollywood actress Joe Saladana and Celina Gomez. The story of the film, Emilia (Carla Sophia Gacson), the head of the drugs cartel, hits a famous lawyer Rita (who Saladana) on a thick money, who can create a false story of her death in court. Actually, Emilia wants to declare herself dead so that she can live the rest of her life free without any fear.
At the same time, the story of ‘All V Imagine as Light’ revolves around two Malayali nurses living in Mumbai and their friendship. This was not the first time that ‘All We Imagine Age Light’ has been defeated by ‘Emilia Perez’. Earlier too, Payal’s film had to face defeat in the ’82nd Golden Globe Award ‘and’ Critic Choice Award ‘. In the month of May last year, ‘All V Imagine as Light’ won the Grand Prix in Cannes and became the first film in India to achieve the feat.
