- Ban on choice filling and locking facility of first round; Decision of Medical Counseling Committee

The Medical Counseling Committee i.e. MCC today, on August 5, has temporarily stopped the first round of NEET UG 2025 choice filling and choice locking facility. The committee has not given any reason for this ban. MCC wrote on its official website, ‘First round choice filling and choice locking have been stopped. Revised schedule will be announced soon.

The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) Open the registration window for NEET UG 2025 counseling from July 21 and its choice filling process had started.
After the results, the selected candidates will have to report to their respective institutions from August 1 to August 6, 2025. Data verification to institutions is scheduled from 7 to 8 August 2025.
Registrations started from July 21
Candidates were to register on the official website – mxc.nic.in. There will be a list and official advisory of institutes who will soon participate in temporary seat matrix on the portal. The result of NEET UG 2025 was declared on 14 June.
Apart from this, the process of State NEET UG schedule was from July 21 to July 30 for State Kota and for AIQ/Deemed/Central Institutions from 30 July to 6 August.
NEET UG Counseling Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who have passed NEET UG 2025. They are participating in the candidates counseling process. MCC is conducting counseling for all these categories
- 15% All India Kota (AIQ) seats
- 100% seats in AIIMS, Zipmar, BHU, AMU and ESIC institutions
- MCC coordinated institution quota seats
- AFMC and ESIC insured person (IP) quota
- Admission in central and deemed universities
NEET UG Counseling 2025: Round One Schedule
From 18-9 July 2025, institutions and National Medical Commission (NMC) seat matrix have been verified. After this, the registration and payment windows were opened from July 21 to July 28, 2025.
Choice Phil’s step was to be completed from July 22 to July 28, 2025, which was from 11:55 pm, while the process of locking the option was between 4:00 pm to 11:55 pm on 28 July 2025. The seat allotment process started from July 29 and 30, 2025.
NEET UG 2025 take part in counseling
After the registration opens on July 21, the candidates can follow these steps to register themselves.
According to its notice, MCC, all institutes and colleges will have to strictly follow the scheduled timelines. For the operation of counseling process, all institutions/colleges are also instructed to accept Saturday, Sunday and gazetted holidays as regular working day.
