The Indian cricket team’s tour of Bangladesh has been postponed for September 2026 i.e. a year. The Cricket Control Board of India (BCCI) made an official announcement on 5 July (Saturday). Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and BCCI have taken this decision with mutual consent.

The Indian team was to visit Bangladesh in August 2025. On the tour of Bangladesh, three ODIs and three T20 matches were to be played against the hosts. These matches were to be held between India and Bangladesh during August 17 to 31.

The BCCI release said, ‘Both cricket boards have taken this decision after mutual discussion. In this, the problems related to international busyness and schedule of both teams have been taken into consideration. The Bangladesh Cricket Board has clarified that it is keen on hosting India in 2026. This much awaited series will definitely bring an exciting match in the future. New dates of the series will be officially declared officially.

Waiting to see Kohli-Rohit playing increased

Due to postponement of Bangladesh tour, now the wait for Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma’s return has increased on the cricket field. Team India also had to play 3 ODIs on Bangladesh tour, where both of them could be seen playing veterans.
