Pakistan with Maldives-Bangladesh: According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), top military officials from Bangladesh and Maldives met Pakistan Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir on Friday. In this meeting, the existing regional security environment and the paths of advanced defense and security cooperation were discussed.
The meeting was attended by Admiral Mohammad Najmul Hasan, head of Bangladesh Navy Staff and Major General Ibrahim Hillmi, head of defense forces of Maldives. ISPR issued separate press releases after both meetings, which gave details of these meetings.
Growing partnership between Pakistan and Maldives
In the meeting of General Aseem and Major General Hilmi, both sides expressed satisfaction with the permanent bond of brotherhood and friendship between Pakistan and Maldives. He insisted on increasing mutual cooperation, underlining his view on shared regional issues. Both military leaders expressed their commitment to strengthen cooperation in areas of mutual interest. Major General Hilmi appreciated the contribution of the Pakistani Army in regional stability. According to ISPR, this was the second high -level journey of Bangladesh Armed Forces in recent times. During this time, officials of the two countries discussed the existing regional security environment and considered ways to increase bilateral defense and security cooperation. Admiral Hasan also met General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee. Discussion between the two leaders focused on mutual strategic interests and maritime cooperation.
