Bangladesh Mohammad Yunus Government Cancels Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman International Peace Award

Bangladesh Yunus Government: The Yunus government of Bangladesh is selected and Bangabandhu Sheikh is engaged in erasing the traces related to Sheikh Mujiburrahman. Now the interim government of Bangladesh has also canceled the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujiburrahman International Peace Award. The award was approved by the Awami League government led by Sheikh Hasina 10 months ago.

According to the Dhaka Tribune, the Sheikh Hasina government started the award to honor the peace of Bangabandhu and the ideology of humanity, but on Tuesday (March 4), the Mohammad Yunus government decided to close it without any reason.

The Awami government approved the ‘Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Shanti Award’ on May 20, 2024. This award was to be given to important people who contributed to establish peace in the world. The Awami government had announced to give this award to an individual or institution every two years, which has made significant contribution in areas such as international peace, war ending or hunger and poverty eradication.

What would the award winner get?

Under this award, the winner was going to get one million dollars, 50 grams weight gold medal and a certificate. However, no one has been given this award till now and it has already been abolished.

Yunus’s decision created a new controversy

The Yunus government has created a new controversy by abolishing this award given in the name of Bangabandhu. With this decision, Mohammad Yunus has once again proved that he will not allow any sign related to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Sheikh Hasina in Bangladesh.
