India Bangladesh Relations: Mohammad Yunus, the head of the interim government of Bangladesh, is now busy fixing poor relations with India. This is the reason that the Yunus government has given a big blow to its most loved Pakistan and China. Bangladesh’s foreign affairs advisor Mohammad Tauheed Hussain denied the possibility of Bangladesh, China and Pakistan alliance on Thursday (26 June 2025).
Bangladesh’s Foreign Ministry made it clear that recently the meeting between the three countries was not political. Asked if the purpose of the meeting was to be sidelined for India, Tauheed Hussai said, “I assure that the neighboring country India was not done by targeting this.
China-Bangladesh and Pakistan had a meeting
The Ministry of External Affairs had earlier said in a statement that representatives of Bangladesh, China and Pakistan held a meeting at the China-South Asia exhibition in Kunming and the Chinese-South Asia Cooperation Forum. China and Pakistan had issued different statements about this meeting. China said that in this meeting, cooperation between the three parties was widely discussed and agreed to move forward as a good neighbor.
On the other hand, Pakistan described it as a separate group built between Bangladesh-China-Pakistan. Former Bangladesh acting Foreign Secretary Ruhul Alam Siddiqui represented Dhaka at a meeting with Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Sun Vedong and Pakistani Additional Foreign Secretary Imran Ahmed Siddiqui.

According to a report by news agency PTI, when Tauheed Hussain was asked whether Dhaka denies that what China and Pakistan said about this meeting were wrong? In response to this question, he said that there is no need to deny anything. However, he insisted that this was not a big deal nor was there any hidden thing. He said that mainly connectivity and other issues were discussed in the meeting.
Bangladesh wants to improve relations with India
We should accept the truth. The kind of deep relations between the India and the previous government (ignorant Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina) and the kind of relations India established, the current relationship with us is not that kind. In response to a question, he said that if India wants to have such a meeting with Bangladesh and Nepal, Dhaka will be interested in meeting.
