The Bandra police filed their reply on Friday on the bail plea of the accused who entered the house of actor Saif Ali Khan and attacked him. The police told the court that there is strong evidence against the accused and a charge sheet will be filed soon.
Accused Shariful Islam Shahzad filed a bail plea through Advocate Ajay Gawli claiming that the FIR lodged against him was false. However, the police strongly opposed the petition and told the court that the accused is a Bangladeshi citizen and had illegally entered India. The police suspect that he may run to Bangladesh on getting bail and may carry out crime again. The police also said that on getting bail, he can affect the witnesses and avoid the case.
Police has a long list of evidence
Police told the court that in the report received from Forensic Science Lab (FSL), Kalina, the footprint from the crime site, the broken knife from the back of Saif Ali Khan, a piece of knife fell on the spot and the part of the recovered part of the accused match each other. Apart from this, in CCTV footage, the accused has been seen clearly while committing crime and running away. These footage was sent to the forensic lab for the facial recognition test, whose report has been received by the police.
Many evidence found against the accused
Police said that the accused had shown them the places from where he had taken up the weapons used in the crime and the Panchnama of those places was done. The police collected the call detail record (CRD), subscriber detail record (SDR) and tower location of the mobile phone of the accused used during the crime. When the accused was arrested, his mobile handset and SIM card were confiscated. The police claimed that when the mobile was investigated under the Panchnama, evidence was found that the accused is a Bangladeshi citizen. The seized mobile of the accused has been deposited in the forensic science laboratory for a detailed report, which is still waiting.
Police also collected blood -stained clothes
The police have also collected the blood -stained clothes of Saif Ali Khan and his attendant Hari, who went to Lilavati Hospital with him in an autorickshaw. The blood -stained clothes of Saif’s staff members were also collected, which were also injured and sent for chemical analysis and that report has also been received.
What was the matter?
Let me tell you that Saif was attacked by an intruder in his 12th floor in the posh area of Bandra on 16 January with a knife. After the attack, a piece of knife was stuck near the spinal cord, which Saif Ali Khan had to undergo emergency surgery at Lilavati Hospital to remove. However, he was discharged from the hospital after 5 days.
