New Delhi. Bangladesh, who scored a mountain of runs in the first Test against Sri Lanka, is thin in the second Test. The hosts have taken Bangladesh’s 8 wickets for just 220 runs in the second Test. Spinners Sonal Dinusha, Vishwa Fernando and Asitha Fernando, who are debuting for Sri Lanka, took two wickets each. Bangladesh scored 495 in the first innings of the first Test and 285/6 (declared) in the second innings.
Lahiru Udara dripped the catch of Mushfikar Rahim when he was batting for eight runs. Rahim and Litton Das shared a 67 -run partnership for the fifth wicket and tried to bring Bangladesh’s innings back on track. Playing his first match, Dinusha made both of their efforts useless by showing the path of the pavilion. Litton scored 34 runs and caught Mendis. Rahim’s 35 -run innings came to an end with the catch of World Fernando.
Twenty -four -year -old Dinusha has replaced the team in place of experienced all -rounder Angolo Mathews, who retired. He took two wickets for 22 runs in nine overs. Due to the disturbance of rain, only 71 overs a day could be played. The first match of the series was a draw.
