Former Bangladesh Prime Minister and Awami League leader Sheikh Hasina has greeted the countrymen on the occasion of Sharadiya Navratri. In his message, he referred to the serious crises before the country and said that Awami League hopes that the people of Bangladesh will once again conquer these challenges and restore their freedom.
Hasina said in her message, ‘On this occasion of Sharadiya festival, I send my heartfelt greetings and love to all the countrymen. Along with customs and prayers, the social and cultural aspects of this festival are important for all of us, which make it universal beyond religion and caste. Let me tell you that the protests of the students started against the Kota system last year became violent and on August 5, Sheikh Hasina was forced to leave the country. Sheikh Hasina said in her message, ‘Earlier Durga Puja was celebrated in most families in Bangladesh, but now community (Barouri) Durga Puja is more prevalent. The multidimensional violence on the followers of Sanatan Dharma after August 5 last year has shocked the whole world. Even in this horrific phase of atrocities on religious minorities, I wish all the followers of Sanatan Dharma in Bangladesh.
