Former domestic cricketer Mithun Manhas has become the chairman of the Indian Cricket Control Board i.e. BCCI. It was announced on Sunday after the Annual Journal Meeting (AGM) held at the BCCI office in Mumbai. He was elected unopposed to this post.
Union Minister Jitendra Singh posted on X and congratulated Mithun Manhas. He wrote- Mithun Manhas has officially become the president of BCCI.
Play in J&K under-15 team Manhas played under-15, under-16 and under-19 from Jammu and Kashmir. He played under-19 for 3 years J&K. In 1995, he scored around 750 runs and became the country’s highest Und-19 scorer.
Later became the captain of the J&K team. Due to this performance, he was selected for the North Zone. Playing in it, Manhas made an identity of her. His name started running in junior cricket.
After taking the 12th exam, Manhas came to Delhi for the first time for a few months. Then he was 17 years old. After coming here, he participated in the premiere tournament of Delhi and started playing from here. At that time, veterans like Virender Sehwag, Ashish Nehra used to play in the Delhi team.
Due to good performance in Delhi tournament, he was selected in the Under -19 National Team. Then in 1996, he was selected in the Delhi team in the Ranji Trophy. However, no match played. Then in 1997, he made a Ranji debut for Delhi in 1997.
Delhi became captain of Ranji team and got a trophy Manhas confirmed his place in the middle order while performing well for the Delhi team. For the first time in the 2001-02 season, the Ranji Trophy joined the players scoring 1000+ runs. Then he was the captain of the Delhi Ranji team from 2006 to 2008. Under his captaincy, Delhi won the 2007–08 Ranji Trophy. This was the 16th Ranji Trophy title of the Delhi team.

IPL debut from Delhi Daredevils Manhas was selected in the first season of IPL due to giving good performance in Ranji. He made his IPL debut with Delhi Daredevils in 2008. Then in 2011, Pune Warriors joined India in IPL. Chennai became part of the Super Kings team in 2015.
Became coach after retirement Entered coaching after retirement in 2017. The IPL franchisees joined Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings XI) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) as a support staff. Then he stayed in the coaching staff with Gujarat Titans in IPL.
J&K was the director of Cricket Association Manhas became a cricket operations director in the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) in the year 2023. J&K contributed to strengthening the cricket structure. Also, worked on preparing domestic cricket players.
BCCI president needs to be a cricketer After amending the constitution of BCCI in 2019, such nominations generally accept without any opposition. BCCI believes that a cricketer should lead the board. Prior to this, Sourav Ganguly and Roger Binny have been the president of BCCI.
