After the Dream11 contract is over, the BCCI Asia Cup is looking for a new sponsor before 2025, whose sponsorship amount will be around Rs 450 crore.
Dream11 signed a three -year agreement with BCCI. In this, the brand would pay Rs 358 crore to the Indian Board during the contract. The deal had to be abolished after about two years from the date of signing of the contract. NDTV sources have confirmed that BCCI is now trying to find a sponsor for 140 matches from 2025 to 2028. This agreement would be better than the amount given to the board by Dream11. The sponsorship will be for domestic and foreign bilateral matches as well as multi-team tournaments organized by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and International Cricket Council (ICC).
BCCI has set a target of Rs 3.5 crore for bilateral matches and Rs 1.5 crore for ICC and ACC matches – which is more than Dream11 but less than Byju’s. As far as the Asia Cup is concerned, BCCI is trying to get a shirt sponsor before the start of the continental tournament. There may be a slight delay due to short time. The board is confident that it will seal a new unit before the Women’s World Cup starting on 30 September.
