A heartbreaking incident has come to light in Muzaffarpur district of Bihar. A woman living in Deoria Kothi area here has accused her husband of crossing all limits of cruelty. On suspicion of illegal relationship, her husband kept her in a room in the house for two days. He stopped eating and drinking. Not only this, tied his hands and feet and beat him with warm iron rod and put chili powder in its private part. The police have registered a case against him and arrested him.
The accused husband has been identified as Shatrughan Rai. The victim alleges that the husband tried to strangle her with the wire of the mobile charger and also tried to give an electric shock. Despite all this, when he screamed, the neighbors also did not help. On June 15, when his brother came home, his life was saved. The brother immediately rushed him to the local primary health center, from where he was referred to Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital.
SHO Ram Vinay Kumar of Deoria police station said, “A case has been registered against her husband and in -laws based on the victim’s statement. Her husband Shatrughan Rai has been arrested while her in -laws are absconding. The victim is being treated in the hospital.” According to the victim’s statement, the incident took place on 13 June. Her husband locked her in a room and kept assaulting her for two days. He was not given food and water for two days.
The SHO said that the victim has said in her complaint that her legs and hands were tied. He was beaten with a warm iron rod. She alleged that her husband put chili powder in her private part. He also told the police that even after his shouting, his neighbors did not come to save him. She told that on suspicion of extramarital affair, her husband and in -laws have brutally assaulted her. He also tried to strangle him with a mobile phone charger’s wire.
On June 16, the victim lodged a formal complaint at Deoria police station and her husband was arrested on the same day. The police have registered a case against her husband, mother -in -law, brother -in -law and sister -in -law. The rest of his in -laws are absconding. They are being searched. A detailed investigation is being done in this case.
