A 49-year-old man traveling on Howrah-Gaya Express was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Bihar’s Lakhisarai district. The reason for the murder is not clear yet. The police is now investigating this matter. Police officials gave this information on Tuesday.
Giving information, Jamalpur Railway Superintendent of Police Raman Chaudhary told PTI that the deceased has been identified as Dharmendra Kumar (49), resident of Lakhisarai. Raman Choudhary told that when the train was about to stop at Kiul Junction in the evening, some miscreants shot the passenger dead.
Superintendent of Police Raman Chaudhary further said that according to eyewitnesses, they jumped from the train after committing the crime. He said that the body of the deceased has been sent for post-mortem and the matter is being investigated.
He said that documents related to property have been recovered from the passenger’s bag. It seems that a property related dispute could be the reason for the crime. However, the picture is not clear yet. Therefore, the police is investigating this matter from all angles.
