The administration has become alert after the entry of bird flu in Chandrapur, Maharashtra. Here Mangli village and around it has declared a 10 km radius as ‘alert zone’. The Collector and District Disaster Management Authority has issued an order in this regard to prevent the spread of infection.

According to the agency, on January 25, birds died on poultry form in Mangli village of Brahmapuri tehsil. On receiving the news of this matter, the Animal Husbandry Department team reached the spot and took samples and sent them to Pune and Bhopal for investigation. After this, when the report came from the lab, it confirmed the bird flu (avian influenza H5N1).

The administration became cautious after receiving the report. Chandrapur Collector and President of DDMA declared Mangli village and its 10 km radius as ‘alert zone’. Most of the people say that scientific methods are being adopted to prevent infection in the zone.

Officials say that the infected birds will be killed through the Poultry Bird Rapid Response Team in Mangli, Gavarlachak and Junonatoli here. According to the administration, infected chickens will be destroyed by scientific method. The remaining animal food and eggs will also be destroyed.

Apart from this, the movement of vehicles in the affected area has been stopped. The movement of living and dead hen, eggs, chicken, bird diet, auxiliary materials and equipment has been banned in the zone. The entry gate and campus of the affected poultry farms have been asked to be cleaned with sodium hypoclorite or potassium permanganate. Poultry and chicken shops will remain closed within a radius of 5 km of the infected area.
