Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is an attacker on CM Mamta Banerjee regarding the teacher recruitment scam held in West Bengal. Regarding the widespread corruption in the recruitment process in the state schools, the BJP says that the Chief Minister will go to jail. BJP MP Sambit Patra held a press conference on Thursday (April 3, 2025) and targeted the Bengal government fiercely. He said, ‘If BJP comes to power in the state, then the responsibility of Mamata Banerjee will be fixed. There is a rule of law in India and no one can escape from it. Didi will definitely go to jail ‘.
‘Accused of interrupting school recruitment scam’
Talking to news agency ANI, Sambit Patra said, ‘From the day the BJP government will be formed in Bengal, action will be taken against Mamata Banerjee with full force’. The Supreme Court has upheld the decision of the Calcutta High Court to cancel the recruitment of more than 25,000 teachers and non-teaching employees due to serious irregularities in the selection process.
Sambit Patra has accused the Bengal government of corrupting institutions. At the same time, Mamta government has also been accused of interrupting the investigation of school recruitment scam. He said, ‘A few days ago she (Mamta Banerjee) went to Oxford and she described herself as a lioness and now a case of her corruption has come up’. He further said, ‘The way Mamta Banerjee has allowed corruption to flourish in the state, millions of people have been affected’.
‘Why is Rahul Gandhi silent now’?
The BJP MP accused the Trinamool Congress (TMC) of obstructing the investigation and also questioned the silence of the opposition parties in the case. He asked, ‘If such serious allegations were made against any NDA Chief Minister, then Rahul Gandhi would have created a ruckus in Parliament and would call it a murder of democracy but where are they now? Where are the leaders of Indie coalition ‘?
