BJP President Election: After the completion of the election of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state units, the BJP is ready to choose a new national president in this month i.e. March. Although the party president was to be selected in January itself, but due to the pending elections in Delhi Assembly elections and many state units, this process was postponed.
According to the BJP’s Constitution, the presidents should be elected for at least 50 percent of the state units before choosing the national president. For this reason, the state level election process is being expedited. This process has been completed in 12 out of 36 states and union territories. Now elections are to be held in only 6 states.
Will the process in 6 states end within 10 days?
The Times of India quoted sources in its report as saying that the election of president in major states including Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka and Haryana can end within seven to ten days. The current state president is likely to maintain the current state president in Bihar. The elections of district presidents in Uttar Pradesh are expected to be dealt with within three to four days, after which the election of the state president will be held. The election of UP president should be held within seven to 10 days.
