The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) took a dig at the Congress on Monday (June 23, 2025) for praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi on behalf of Congress leader Shashi Tharoor and said that MP from Thiruvananthapuram has exposed Rahul Gandhi.
Shashi Tharoor said that Modi’s energy, his multidimensional personality and readiness of dialogue remain an important capital for India on the global stage, but it needs more cooperation and support. His remarks may once again put the Congress in an uncomfortable position and the rift in his relationship with the party leadership may be deeper.
Shashi Tharoor’s praise for the Prime Minister has come at a time when the Congress is continuously attacking the Modi government on foreign policy and is alleging that Indian diplomacy has collapsed and the country has been isolated globally.
Reacting to Shashi Tharoor’s comments, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari targeted the Congress. He said in a post on social media platform X, “Shashi Tharoor has admitted that Prime Minister Modi’s multidimensional personality and global access is strategically beneficial for India.” Pradeep Bhandari said, ‘Shashi Tharoor has exposed Rahul Gandhi.’
Shashi Tharoor said in an article written for the English daily ‘The Hindu’ that the diplomatic contact after Operation Sindoor was a moment of national resolution and effective dialogue. He said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s energy, his multidimensional personality and readiness of dialogue remain an important capital for India on the global platform, but it requires more support.”
The Congress leader, who led the multi -party delegation to the US and four other countries to convey India’s attitude after the Military campaign conducted under the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor, said, “After Operation Sindoor, diplomatic contact was a moment of national resolution and effective dialogue. It has confirmed that India can put its voice on international forums with clarity and conviction when united.
In his article, Shashi Tharoor said that on 22 April 2025, after the Pahalgam terror attack and through Operation Sindoor, India’s strong response presented an important side for the country’s foreign policy. Last week, in Thiruvananthapuram, Shashi Tharoor said that he had differences with some people in the party leadership, but in view of the Nilambur assembly by -election, he refused to speak anything on it. He had said that the Congress, its value and its workers are very dear to him.
