Maldives President Mohammad Mujju has stated the Indian Ocean a lively proof of the long -term relations between Maldives and India, saying that the two countries have established a strong and unbreakable bond, which is beyond diplomacy. On Friday (July 24, 2025) during the state banquet organized in honor of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Mujju thanked the Government of India for the continuous support and strong friendship.
Highlighting 60 years of diplomatic relations between Maldives and India, Mujju described them as a reflection of shared history and permanent partnership. According to a statement issued by the President’s Office, Mujju said that the relationship between Maldives and India is beyond formal diplomacy and has centuries -old deep relationships.

He said that the Maldives government is committed to building an inclusive and dynamic economy, empowering youth and ensuring peace and security in the region. President Mujju admitted that India’s partnership is important in realizing these ambitions.
Confirming the commitment of Maldives to further strengthen this particular relationship, Mujju wished a rich Maldives-India partnership, which brought permanent peace and prosperity in both countries. Earlier, Modi and Mujju held extensive talks, focusing on strengthening bilateral cooperation in various fields including trade, defense and maritime security.
