Broken record … Treasury filled, the highest ever GST collection in April – GST collection rises over 12 percent to Highest Ever at Rs 2 37 Lakh Crore in April Tutd

With the beginning of the new month, good news has come for the country. There has been a great increase in GST collection during the month of April. With this increase, GST collection has reached the record high level. In April, the Goods and Services Tax (GST) collection increased from 12.6 percent to a record high level of Rs 2.37 lakh crore from year to year.

The GST collection in April 2024 was Rs 2.10 lakh crore, which is the second largest collection since the commencement of these direct tax system on 1 July 2017. In March 2025, this collection was Rs 1.96 lakh crore. GST revenue increased by 10.7 percent to about Rs 1.9 lakh crore due to domestic transactions, while revenue from imported goods increased by 20.8 percent to Rs 46,913 crore.
