Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said- After 127 years, the bones of Lord Buddha have returned to their ‘real land’. These bones were found in the year 1898 in Piparahwa, Uttar Pradesh.

Union Culture and Tourism Minister Shekhawat received them at Delhi Airport on Wednesday. The minister gave information about this during a public hearing at his residence in Jodhpur on Saturday. He said that PM Modi has said- ‘India is the country of Lord Buddha’.

The bones of Lord Buddha were found in 1898 in Piparahwa, Uttar Pradesh. They were sent out of the country during the British rule. Now after 127 years, he has been brought back to his land.

A family living in America was about to auction The Union Minister said- After the Parinirvana of Lord Buddha, his ashes were divided into 8 parts. The eighth part came to the part of the Shakya dynasty of his family. He kept him in the ground in a stone box (box) in Piparahwa, Kapilavastu.

This box was found in the excavation during the British in 1898. In that box, the bones of Lord Buddha were placed in a crystal box. The second box had belongings of his nephew, other family members.

A large part of this wealth of India was given to the explorer British officer William Peep. Shekhawat told- The families living in America, who had these bones. He was preparing to sell it through a large international auction house.

In late April, it came to cognizance that he nominated him for sale through Sothbeiz (the world’s largest option house). We stopped that auction. Said that the Government of India wants to take it and authorize it. Now after 127 years, India’s wealth has returned to India.
