Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday met King Maha Vajiralongkorn and Rani Sutida Bajrasudhimalatha of Thailand. The meeting was held at the Dushit Mahal in Bangkok, in which the two leaders discussed ways to further strengthen the multidimensional relations between India and Thailand. During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi and Thai Raja discussed the shared cultural heritage of India-Thailand. He especially discussed Lord Buddha’s sacred remains from India to Thailand and this initiative discussed the strengthening of public relations relations between the two countries.

Prime Minister Modi ended his two -day Bangkok and departed for Sri Lanka. On this occasion, he presented a symbolic gifts of Indian art and culture to the king, queen, Prime Minister, his wife and former Prime Minister of Thailand.

Prime Minister Modi presented the Sarnath Buddha statue of a magnificent brass built in the ancient secret and Pal style of Bihar to King Maha Vajiralongkorn. Rani Sutida was presented the famous brocade silk shawl of Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. This shawl has Indian short painting and beautiful painting of rural life, divine celebration and nature inspired by backward art. This shawl symbolizes the vibrancy of its red, blue, green and yellow colors as well as the royal grandeur due to the wide golden border.

Prime Minister Sethha Thawicin was presented a boat with a peacock shape of a special brass made in the ancient metal art ‘Dokra’ style of Chhattisgarh.
