On Wednesday, the administration demolished 12 shops built on the road along the Delhi Highway in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh. This action was taken near the Chaudhary Sarai police post of Sadar Kotwali area.
The administration had identified them two days ago by putting red marks on these shops. The Tehsildar gave the shopkeepers time to break the shops within 24 hours. At the same time, he was warned that for not removing shops within the time limit, a case will be filed and sent to jail.

Shopkeepers did not vacate shops within the stipulated time. After this, on Wednesday, the administration reached the spot and started action. All 12 shops were dropped from bulldozers.

A heavy police force was deployed on the spot to ensure that there should be no obstruction during the action. Police of RRF and several nearby police stations along with Tehsildar and Sadar Kotwali police were present. The administration says that all the illegally built shops on the road land have been removed and this action will continue even further.
