Manoj Kumar, veteran artist of Hindi films and popular for his patriotic films, died on Friday. He breathed his last at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. He was 87 years old.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, remembering Manoj Kumar, posted social media and shared some pictures and paid tribute to him. PM Modi said that the death of veteran actor and filmmaker Manoj Kumar was saddened. He was a symbol of Indian cinema, especially remembered for his patriotism, which was also seen in his films.
PM Modi wrote that Manoj ji’s films spread the spirit of patriotism and pride and this will continue to inspire future generations. My condolences to his family and fans in this hour of grief. Om peace.

Manoj Kumar once recalled this picture in 2014, saying that it was probably taken when he went to campaign for BJP in 1984. Narendra Modi was a party worker at that time and was working for the party campaign. Manoj Kumar at that time went to Gujarat to campaign in support of BJP. Later Manoj Kumar also took membership of BJP in 2004. At that time Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat.
