Indian -origin Canadian citizen Anita Anand and Delhi -born Kamal Kheda are one of the youngest women elected in Canada’s Parliament. Now he has been made part of the cabinet of the new Prime Minister of the country, Mark Carney. Former Central Banker of Liberal Party, Carney, was sworn in with members of the 30th Canadian Ministry in a program organized on Friday under the chairmanship of Governor General Mary Simon.
Anita (58) is the Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, while Kamal (36) is the Health Minister. Both are among the few people who retain their ministerial position with different departments from the cabinet of former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Who is Kamal Kheda?
Kamal’s family went to Canada when his schooling was going on. He later earned a Bachelor of Science degree from York University, Toronto.
According to the Canadian Prime Minister’s website, Kamal Kheda was first selected as a Member of Parliament for Brampton West in 2015. He is one of the youngest women selected for Parliament. Kamal, a registered nurse, community volunteer and political activist, is ready to improve the lives of the people around him.

Kamal Kheda said social media post, “As a nurse, my biggest priority is always to be present for my patients and that is how I will also work as Health Minister. I am very grateful for the confidence of Prime Minister Mark Carney. Now, the time has come for my sleeves to uplift and work.”
Before the entry in politics, Kamal Kheda has worked as a nurse at the oncology unit at St. Joseph Health Center in Toronto. The website stated, “During the first wave of Kovid-19 epidemic, he worked as a nurse registered as a volunteer in a care facility in his hometown Brampton.”

Who is Anita Anand?
Anita Anand, who was leading the race to become the next Prime Minister in place of Trudeau, announced in January that she is retreating from this race. According to the Canadian Prime Minister’s website, Anita Anand was first elected as a Member of Parliament for Okville in 2019 and earlier worked as the Chairman of the Treasury Board, National Defense Minister and Public Service and Purchase Minister.
The website states, “Anita Anand has worked as a scholar, lawyer and researcher. She has been a legal educationist as a law professor at Toronto University, where she took over the post of JR Kimber Chair in investor protection and corporate governance.”

Carney cabinet is smaller than Trudeau’s cabinet
Carney’s cabinet has 13 men and 11 women, smaller than the 37 -member team of Trudeau. Prime Minister Carney posted on social media with a picture of his cabinet after the swearing -in ceremony. In this, he said, “Canada, meet our new cabinet. We formed a small, concentrated and experienced team, which is formed to face this time.”
