The women’s teams of India and England will clash in the T20 match on Saturday.

New Delhi. The Indian women’s team has suffered a major setback before the match with England. India’s captain Harmanpreet Kaur is said to be ill. Harmanpreet did not attend the press conference to be held a day before the match. Vice captain Smriti Mandhana spoke to the press in his place. He hoped for a better performance and said that the players are fully ready after the 25 -day camp in Bengaluru. This camp was organized for the tour of England and World Cup preparations. India will host the Women’s ODI World Cup from September 30 to November 2.

The Indian women’s cricket team will play 8 matches on England tour. First, both teams will play a 5 -match T20 series. After this, 3 will play ODI matches. The first match of the T20 series will be played on Saturday, 25 June in Nottingham. Indian vice -captain Smriti Mandhana said a day before this match, ‘We had set up a camp for batteries and bowlers in NCA. The camp was organized keeping this tour and the World Cup specially in mind. When asked about the health of captain Harmanpreet Kaur, Mandhana said, ‘I don’t think she is not playing. He is only unwell today. Today I have come to the place of Harmanpreet today.

Mandhana said that coming to England a long time ago has helped him to make good preparations. He said, ‘We had already come here. Preparation of eight days well. Played some good practice matches, so that we came to know a lot about the circumstances of England. Mandhana said, ‘This is the first England tour for many girls. Therefore, it was important for them to come here early so that they could become accustomed to circumstances.

Given the World Cup to be held later this year, the focus of the team will be mainly on ODI format. Mandhana admitted that five T20 matches would also give his team a chance to assess their game under these circumstances. England will host the Women’s T20 World Cup from 12 June to July 5 next year. Mandhana said, ‘Next year, at the same time, there is a T20 World Cup in Britain in the same time, in which the circumstances will be similar. I am confident that these five T20 matches will prove to be good preparations for many girls and will be good for us to test the situation here too.
