CBI Action: The Branch Manager of the Sikhula branch of Baroda UP Bank of Azamgarh has been arrested by the CBI red -handed by the CBI taking a bribe of Rs 20,000. The accused was asking for bribe to withdraw money from the account holder.
The CBI (CBI) had registered a case in this case on 12 March 2025 and caught the accused bank manager on 11 March 2025, taking a bribe. This action was taken by the Anti-Corption Branch of CBI.
What is the whole matter?
The complainant told the CBI that he had taken a loan from the bank under Kisan Credit Card (KCC) and dairy loan. When he went to the bank to withdraw his sanctioned amount, the bank manager sought a bribe of Rs 20,000 from him. The bank manager clearly said that if he does not give bribe, he will not be allowed to withdraw money. Troubled, the victim complained to the CBI.
CBI action, appeared in court
The CBI made a complete plan and laid a trap to catch the bank manager red -handed. When the accused was taking a bribe of Rs 20,000, the CBI arrested him. Now he is being produced in a special court of Lucknow (CBI Court No-6).
Major incident of corruption in banking system
This is not the first incident when a case of corruption has come to light in banks. Bank officials often illegally demand bribe from farmers credit card (KCC) and other loans. Especially in rural areas, farmers have to pay money to middlemen and bank officials to get their sanctioned amount. The CBI has said that the investigation of this matter is still going on and further revelations can be made. There is a possibility that more officials may be involved in the banking scam.
Administration appeal
The CBI and the bank administration have appealed to the public that if a bank officer or employee asks for bribe, then complain immediately. Strict action will be taken on corruption and the culprits will be punished. After this matter came to light, questions are being raised about the functioning and transparency of banks. This action of CBI can also cause fear among other corrupt officials.
