Shocking facts have been revealed in the investigation of the Central Drug Standards Control Organization (CDSCO). CDSCO investigation has failed 50 medicine samples of 37 pharmaceutical companies made in Himachal Pradesh. Samples of 186 medicines were found to fail across the country.

According to the drug alert in May late Friday night by CDSCO, samples of 58 drugs were not met in the investigation of CDSCO and Central Laboratory, while 128 samples were found to be failed in their laboratory investigation of different states.
Surprisingly, 20 states and union territories did not report the medicines tested in May to CDSCO. After the investigation report of all the states, the number of failed medicines will increase manifold. It is worrying that because the patients buy these medicines by spending thousands of rupees, but these medicines are of no use.

These medicines are used in the treatment of diseases like acidity, fever, stomach ulcers, heart, high BP, swelling and arthritis.

Sub standard medicines are being made in the industries of Himachal’s Kalaamb, Solan, Baddi, Barotiwala, Nalagarh, Paonta Sahib, Una and Kangra.
Drug controller ordered an inquiry
Himachal Pradesh’s drug controller Manish Kapoor said, notices will be issued to the companies of the industries whose samples have failed in drug alert. Instructions will be given not to send the stock of related medicines to the market. Strict action will be taken by marking companies whose samples of medicines are failing repeatedly.
