ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Update: The ICC Champions Trophy is to start from February 19, but just before that, a big update has come out regarding Rohit Sharma. Due to which Pakistan’s arrogance has gone away.
Actually, there is still confusion regarding Rohit Sharma whether he will go to Pakistan for the photoshoot of the Champions Trophy captains or not. But now an important information has come to light regarding this, from this it has become clear that Rohit Sharma will not go to Pakistan for the captains’ photoshoot.
There is to be a press conference of captains in Pakistan, which is scheduled to be held on 16 and 17 February. In such a situation, it has become very clear from BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) that Rohit Sharma will not go to Pakistan under any circumstances. However, we will still have to wait for its official announcement. What will be the stand of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on this also remains to be seen.
The Indian team has not yet announced its team for the Champions Trophy. Which can be announced after the BCCI meeting to be held on 18-19 January. Team India has to play all its matches in Dubai. If the team reaches the semi-finals and finals, then these matches will also be played in Dubai only.
The first match of Champions Trophy will be held on 19 February
This eight-nation tournament will start on February 19 in Karachi, in which the current champion Pakistan will face New Zealand in the first match. India’s campaign will start against Bangladesh in Dubai the next day. India and defending champions Pakistan are part of Group A along with Bangladesh and New Zealand. Group B includes Afghanistan, England, Australia and South Africa.
There will be a total of 15 matches between 8 teams in the Champions Trophy 2025. The teams have been divided into 2 groups. India and Pakistan are in the same Group-A. The remaining two teams along with them are New Zealand and Bangladesh. Whereas South Africa, Australia, Afghanistan and England have been kept in Group-B. All 8 teams will play 3-3 matches in their respective groups. After this, the top-2 teams of each group will qualify for the semi-finals. The first semi-final will be held in Dubai, while the second will be held in Lahore. After this the final match will be played. In such a situation, if a team reaches the finals, it will play a total of 5 matches in the tournament.
Competitions will be held at 4 venues
All these 15 matches of Champions Trophy will be played at 4 venues. There will be 3 venues in Pakistan. While one venue will be Dubai. The Indian team will play all its matches in Dubai only. If the Indian team qualifies, the final will also be held in Dubai. Otherwise the title match will be played in Lahore on 9 March. A reserve day has also been kept for the semi-finals and final. It has been told that both the semi-finals will be held on 4th and 5th March. The first semi-final will be held in Dubai. While the second semi-final will be played in Lahore. 10 matches including one semi-final will be held at 3 venues in Pakistan. These three venues are Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi.
