The Champions Trophy final will be played between India and New Zealand. Both teams will face face to face in the title match of this tournament after 25 years. In the 2000 final, New Zealand won the title by defeating India.
The final will be played on 9 March at the International Stadium in Dubai. India played all their matches at this ground and won all. On the other hand, New Zealand received the only defeat against India in the tournament. The necklace was found in a group stage on the Dubai ground itself.

India won both the initial matches by 6 wickets
- Team India started their campaign on 20 March with a match against Bangladesh. Bangladesh could score 228 runs while playing first. India won the match in the 47th over on the basis of Shubman Gill’s century.
- India played the second match against Pakistan on 23 March. Pakistan could only score 241 runs while playing first. India won the match in the 43rd over on the basis of Virat Kohli’s century. Kohli was also the player of the match.
Virat shone in the semi -finals
On March 4, India’s semi -finals took place from Australia. Australia scored 264 runs while batting first. Steve Smith and Alex Carrie laid fifty. India lost 2 wickets in the powerplay, where Virat Kohli took the innings with Shreyas Iyer.
Virat batting carefully, scored 84 runs with 56 single and 5 fours. He partnered 91 runs with Shreyas. Finally, Akshar Patel, KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya played the important innings and won the team in the 49th over.
New Zealand defeated Pakistan’s first match
- New Zealand started their campaign in an opening match against host Pakistan. On the basis of Tom Latham’s century, the team scored 320 runs losing 5 wickets. In response, Pakistan was all out after scoring 260 runs.
- The second match of the Kiwi team took place in Rawalpindi from Bangladesh. Bangladesh scored 236 runs losing 9 wickets. Michael Bracewell took 4 wickets for just 26 runs. New Zealand achieved a target in the 47th over on the basis of Rachin Ravindra’s century. The team lost 5 wickets.
South Africa defeated semi -finals
New Zealand semi -finals took place from South Africa in Lahore. The team won the toss and batting first. On the basis of the centuries of Rachin Ravindra and Kane Williamson, the team scored 362 runs losing 6 wickets. Finally Glenn Philips and Derryl Mitchell played innings of 49–49 runs.
South Africa started in front of the big target. Captain Temba Bavuma and Rasi Van Dar Dasan put fifty. The team was shattered as soon as both were out. David Miller handled one end, but he did not meet another end. He scored a century, but the team could only score 312 runs.
India has defeated New Zealand in group stage
India and New Zealand will clash in this Champions Trophy for the second time. Earlier on March 2, both faced in Dubai. India scored 249 runs while batting first. Shreyas Iyer scored 79 and Hardik Pandya scored 45 runs. Matt Henry took 5 wickets.
Kane Williamson scored 81 runs from New Zealand on a slow pitch in front of a target of 250 runs. He did not get any batter from another end. Varun Chakraborty took 5 wickets and the team was all out for 205 runs in 45.3 overs. Now both teams will once again clash for the title in Dubai itself.
