The second Amrit Snan of Prayagraj Mahakumbh will take place on 29th January, on the day of Mauni Amavasya. On one hand, special arrangements have been made in Prayagraj for the Maha Snan of Mauni Amavasya, while on the other hand, Indian Railways is also on high alert mode for the convenience and safety of the devotees.
For the convenience of the devotees coming to Mahakumbh, on one hand thousands of special trains are being run on different railway routes, while on the other hand special arrangements have also been made at big stations around Prayagraj. In this series, the Railways has also made special arrangements for the devotees coming to Prayagraj at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Junction, one of the busiest railway stations on the Delhi-Howrah rail route.
To control the crowd at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Junction, barricading has been done in the foot over bridge and passenger hall. Along with this, holding areas have been created in the station premises, where excellent arrangements have been made for the devotees to rest. Not only this, a special help booth has also been set up for the Maha Kumbh Mela at Deendayal Upadhyay Junction, where railway employees are deployed round the clock and are giving proper information to the passengers.
It is noteworthy that devotees from Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and West Bengal as well as North East are going towards Prayagraj via Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Junction. Due to which a huge crowd of devotees is gathering at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Junction. Therefore, in view of Mahakumbh, strict security arrangements have been made at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Junction as well as nearby stations. RPF and GRP personnel are constantly alert and carrying out checking operations. Along with this, intelligence agencies are also working actively.
RPF Commandant, DDU Railway Division Jethin B. Raj said that the important bath of Mahakumbh is on 29th, on the day of Mauni Amavasya. Regarding this, our first priority at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Railway Division and DDU Junction is that all the people going for Maha Kumbh bath from Bihar, Bengal, Orissa and Jharkhand should be taken for bath as soon as possible. We have to send them back if possible. Therefore, we are trying to send a Kumbh Mela special train every hour and a return train from Prayagraj is also being run every hour. Railway Protection Force has two priorities in this.
First is crowd management for which additional forces have been arranged along with GRP. A holding area has also been created here for crowd management and convenience of passengers. Along with this, TPF’s ‘Meri Saheli Team’ is actively working for women. Scout guides have been appointed for the old age devotees.
The second priority is crime control because as the crowd increases, the possibility of crime will also increase. Therefore, four teams of our people which include intelligence agencies have been activated. Besides, surveillance has also been increased with the Local Police Intelligence Bureau and GRP. We are also patrolling the station as well as the tracks. Along with this, random checking campaign is being conducted at all the stations. Our priority is to take all the people coming for Kumbh Snan to Prayagraj as soon as possible and send them back safely while providing maximum facilities.
