Rape incident took place in high security zone A second year engineering student was raped at Anna University at 8 pm on 23 December. Raj Bhavan and IIT Madras are located near the university campus, which falls in the high-security zone. He has directed to take action against the officials who made the identity of the victim public.
The University’s Complaint Committee also started investigation After the incident the university management also came into action. Officials said that CCTV cameras have been installed in the campus and security officers have been appointed. The University’s Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) is also investigating. Students Federation of India (SFI) and All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA) demonstrated in front of the university demanding action.
