The Election Commission has responded to the allegations of Congress MP P Chidambaram. The Congress leader alleged that there is a danger of 65 lakh voters being deprived of his franchise in Bihar, on the other hand, the news of adding 6.5 lakh people as voters in Tamil Nadu is worrying and illegal. The Election Commission described P Chidambaram’s allegation as misleading and false.
‘Do not spread wrong information about SIR’
Reacting strongly to Chidambaram’s allegations, the Election Commission said, “Political leaders should not spread wrong information about SIR. Such information is being deliberately spread in the media to cause problems in this process. Permanently transferred from Bihar to other states and the accurate figures of generally living voters in those states will be known only after SIR.”
‘Bihar Sir is absurd to connect Tamil Nadu’
The Election Commission clarified that the Nomination of voters in the Constitution of India and the Representation of the People Act 1950 has been arranged according to the constituency where they originally live. ECI said, “Voters should come forward and enroll in the constituency where they are valid. However, it has been observed that some false data about nomination of 6.5 lakh voters in Tamil Nadu is being spread. Needed.”
6.5 lakh migrant voters in Tamil Nadu- Chidambaram
Congress leader P Chidambaram posted on X and said, “SIR’s exercise is becoming more strange day by day. In Bihar, there is a danger of 65 lakh voters being deprived of the franchise, while the news of adding 6.5 lakh people as voters in Tamil Nadu is worrisome. It is permanently insulting the migrant workers and the government of choosing the government is permanent There is gross interference. “
P Chidambaram asked the Election Commission questions
Chidambaram questioned why migrant laborers could not come to Bihar or their home state to vote in the state assembly elections as they always did. He said, “Do not migrant workers return to Bihar at the time of Chhath Puja?” Chidambaram said, “To be nominated as a voter, a person must have a certain and permanent house. Migrant laborer has such a house in Bihar (or any other state). How can he be nominated as a voter in Tamil Nadu?”
