Earthquake Strike: A powerful 6.9 magnitude earthquake struck Shigatse city of Tibet on Tuesday (January 7), causing chaos in the entire region. China’s government broadcasting news channel CCTV confirmed this and said that the earthquake occurred at 9:05 am (0105 GMT), whose depth was 10 kilometers. Due to this earthquake, tremors were felt in Tibet as well as some parts of Nepal.
The Geological Department of the Government of Nepal said that strong earthquake tremors were felt in Nepal at 6:35 in the morning. Its epicenter was in Dinghe Kanti, Tibet, located on the Nepal-China border, where an earthquake of 7.0 magnitude occurred. The effect of this earthquake was seen from eastern to central region of Nepal, due to which the earth shook in many areas including Kathmandu.

Strong earthquake tremors were also felt in Nepal’s capital Kathmandu, due to which people came out of their homes in fear. This earthquake that occurred early in the morning worried people, because after a long time such a big shock was felt in Kathmandu. However, no clear information has been received yet about the extent of damage caused by the earthquake. This earthquake was felt in other districts of Nepal also, due to which the people there are also scared.

According to a notice issued by the China Earthquake Network Center, the epicenter of the earthquake was in Shigatse city of Tibet, which was located 10 kilometers below sea level. At the same time, the Nepal government confirmed that its center was in Dinghe Kanti, the Tibetan area of ​​the Nepal-China border. The earthquake affected many parts of Nepal and Tibet, forcing people in both countries to come out of their homes. There have been no reports of any loss of life or property due to the earthquake yet, but the situation is being monitored by the authorities.
