India’s HS Prannoy made a brilliant debut in the men’s singles at the China Open Badminton Tournament played in Changzhou.

He defeated Koki Watanbe of Japan 8-21, 21–16, 23-21 to enter the pre-quarterfinals. While Anupama Upadhyay suffered defeat in Women’s Singles.

Prannoy returns after losing the first game After losing the first game 8-21, Prannoy made a strong comeback in the second game and won it 21–16. In the third and decisive game, he was behind 1-7 and then 13-20, but scored a brilliant performance to equalize the score 20-20 and eventually won the game and match from 23–21.

Anupama Upadhyay gets defeat In the women’s singles, India’s Anupama Upadhyay lost 23-21, 11-21, 10-21 against Chinese player Lin Hussiang-Ta. Anupama was successful in giving a tough competition in the first game, but in the second and third games, the Chinese player easily defeated her.
