India’s Chief Justice of India (CJI) BR Gawai said that becoming a judge is not a job of 10 to 5, it is an opportunity to serve society and serve the nation. His statement came on complaints of the rude behavior of the judges.
He said that the judges should not do anything that will affect this prestigious institution. Because its reputation is made up of the loyalty and dedication of the lawyers and judges of many generations.
CJI said that judges are expected to work according to their conscience, oath and law. They should not be distracted when the case is decided. The judges should be true for their oath-pledge.
CJI Gawai said that the interpretation of law or constitution should be practical. This should be according to the need of society and the problems of the current generation. CJI reached Mumbai on Saturday. The program was held here in his honor in the Bombay High Court.
Why did CJI say on the appointment of judges? On the appointment of judges, CJI said that the independence of the judiciary will not be compromised at any cost. During the appointments in the Supreme Court, High Court, the collegium decides that diversity, inclusion as well as qualifications remain.
Appreciating the Bombay High Court, CJI Gawai said that I gave work services here as a lawyer and then a judge. When people appreciate my decisions, they feel proud.
CJI BR Gawai was honored by Nagpur District Court Bar Association.

Chief Justice of India BR Gawai had said that judicial activism is necessary to maintain the rights of the Constitution and citizens. This will remain, but it cannot be converted into judicial terrorism.
