Anshul selected for fourth Test against England Anshul Kamboj has been included in the Indian team as a cover player. Two main fast bowlers of Team India Akash Deep and Arshdeep Singh are not fit, due to which Anshul has been sent to England for the fourth Test starting in Old Trafford from July 23.
Akash Deep has a complaint of back pain after playing in Birmingham and Lord’s Tests, while Arshdeep Singh has not been able to play a single test yet. In such a situation, there is every possibility of getting an opportunity for Anshul.

England has done great performance against Lions 24 -year -old Anshul Kamboj performed brilliantly against England Lions before the Test series. He took a total of 5 wickets in four innings of two matches played in Northampton and Cantorbury. His performance was so impressive that the selectors did not delay in choosing him for the senior team. It is believed that Anshul is being considered as a trusted fast bowler of the future.
Anshul made his first class cricket debut for Haryana in the Ranji Trophy on 17 February 2022. After this, he started List-A Cricket in the 2022-23 Vijay Hazare Trophy and gave Haryana the title for the first time with his performance. Along with this, he was also part of the India A team in the 2024 ACC Emerging Team Asia Cup. There he also got his iron.
Shined in IPL too, part of Chennai and Mumbai Anshul Kamboj has also got a chance to play in the IPL. He has been a part of big teams like Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings so far. Whenever he got a chance to play in the IPL, he performed effectively. This is the reason why his entry in the national team did not surprise anyone.
So far, Anshul has 47 first class wickets, 23 List-A wicket and 17 T20 wickets. In the match against Kerala in the Ranji Trophy, he impressed the selectors with 10 wickets in an innings. His continuous performance has brought him to the Test team today.
The fourth Test between India and England starts on 23 July. It is believed that Anshul Kamboj may get a chance in the final eleven in place of Arshdeep. If this happens, it will be a proud moment for Karnal, when a youth here will represent India on the ground of England.
