The action of the Election Commission was started after the notification of the Union Home Ministry, in which the resignation of Jagdish Dhankhar was notified.
According to the information given by the Election Commission, under Article 324 of the Constitution of India, the Election Commission has got the responsibility of conducting the post of Vice President. This process will be conducted under the 1952 President and Vice President Election Act and 1974 President and Vice President Election Rules.
ECI will announce the election of Vice President soon
According to the official information given by the Election Commission, the program of Vice Presidential election will be announced soon. The Election Commission has said that before making this announcement, the Commission wants to complete some preparations at its level. Under this, the Electoral College will be formed, which consists of elected and nominated members of Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha. Along with this, the returning officer and assistant returning officer will be appointed. There will be a compilation and distribution of background materials related to the first Vice Presidential elections.
Stir in opposition camp also intensifies
As soon as the official information from the Election Commission comes out, the stir in the opposition camp has also intensified. The opposition camp has also started searching for its candidate. According to information received from Congress sources, Congress and other opposition parties have started searching for a suitable shared candidate to compete with the NDA’s possible candidate.
Although the opposition is lacking in the number of numbers, the opposition parties are in the mood to take this election in the form of political and ideological conflict. According to sources, to challenge the NDA candidate a strong challenge, there is a search for a face that can represent the unity and thinking of the opposition.
Candidate will be discussed after the Prime Minister’s return
At the same time, according to sources associated with the ruling party, there is a possibility of election of Vice President in September. After returning from the Prime Minister’s foreign tour, the discussion will begin on the name of the Vice Presidential candidate. Before this, the BJP leadership will prepare an interim list of a potential candidate. During this time, the experience of running a legislature near a possible face can be the most important in the points that will be taken into consideration.
According to sources, the name of the Vice Presidential candidate of NDA can come from states like South India, West Bengal or Northeast. Also, some such names can be discussed, who have had experience of a long legislature, so that the action of the House can go on in a smooth and systematic manner.
