The Congress on Sunday (June 29, 2025), citing the alleged comments of India’s Raksha Atase in Indonesia, said that the Indian Air Force lost fighter aircraft during Operation Sindoor. The Congress accused the Modi government of misleading the country.
The Congress has asked the question, saying why Prime Minister Narendra Modi is refusing to preside over the all -party meeting to take the opposition into confidence? And why the demand for a special session of Parliament has been rejected?
Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh on Sunday (June 29, 2025) posted on X and targeted the Modi government. He quoted Indian Navy Captain Shiv Kumar as saying that while speaking at a seminar recently in Indonesia, he said that the Indian Air Force had lost its fighters while targeting terrorism -related sites in Pakistan on the night of 7 May 2025.
‘There was no response from the government yet’
However, the comments of Captain Shiv Kumar in media reports could not be independently confirmed and there is no response from the government or defense establishment yet. The Congress General Secretary said in its post that the first Chief of Defense Staff made important revelations in Singapore. Then a senior defense officer reacted to this in Indonesia. Despite all this, why are the Prime Minister refusing to preside over the all -party meeting and take the opposition into confidence? Why has the demand for a special session of Parliament been rejected?
‘Modi government misled the country from the beginning’
Citing this media report, Pawan Kheda, the head of Congress IT cell, said that the Modi government has misled the country from the beginning. Operation failed to reveal the loss of the aircraft during vermilion. He said that Air Marshal Awadhesh Kumar Bharti gave indirect reference to the loss during briefing when he said that we are in a state of war and the loss is a part of war.
Pawan Kheda said that after this, while talking to Bloomberg TV during the Shangri-La talk in Singapore, Chief of Defense Staff General Anil Chauhan admitted the first official talk of our lack of airspace.
What did Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge say?
The Congress last month asked the government to tell the truth about the loss to the country during the conflict with Pakistan, when CDS General Chauhan commented that India improved its strategy and attacked the enemy’s area after the loss of the aircraft. However, General Chauhan termed Islamabad’s claim to kill 6 Indian jets as absolutely wrong.
On CDS’s remarks, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge accused the government of misleading the country on the India-Pakistan struggle and immediately demanded a special session of Parliament.
