Congress Attack on PM Modi: Last week, US President Donald Trump announced the tariff after which the Indian stock markets saw a huge decline. The Congress attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday (April 07, 2025) on the matter and said that both PM Modi and Donald Trump specialize in harming their country’s economy.

Posting on the social media platform X, Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said, “There is no surprise that Modi and Trump describe themselves as good friends. Both are adept at harming their economies themselves.” He said this when both Sensex and NSE Nifty fell by 4,000 points and 1,200 points respectively.

Share market lost 19 lakh crores

According to the report of India Today, within minutes of the opening of the market, there was a loss of about Rs 19 lakh crore, as the Sensex reached a 10 -month low. On this, the state -run MP of the Congress said, “There was a demonetisation on 8 November 2016. On April 2, 2025, bizarre mutual tariffs will be applicable. The markets are giving predicted response to the way of installing tariffs.”

Rahul Gandhi warned

Last week, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, while speaking during the zero hour, warned the Narendra Modi government that the tariffs would completely destroy the Indian industry. Seeking answers from the government with the intention of protecting the domestic economy amid Trump’s tariff announcements, Rahul Gandhi said, “Somebody once asked Indira Gandhi ji whether you tilt left or bend the right in terms of foreign policy and Indira Gandhi replied that I have not left left or right, I stand straight.”
