Congress Party Congress in Gujarat: The Congress is going to set out the outline of creating an organization and emphasizing the organization in the session going to be held in Gujarat and setting the outline to deal with the challenges standing in front of it. This session of the Congress party is being held in Gujarat after 64 years. This session will be held on Wednesday (April 9) and a day before on Tuesday (April 8), there will be a meeting of the Extended Working Committee. The agenda of the session will be approved in this meeting.
Party sources say that through this session, it will be decided to increase the powers of the Congress District Congress Committees (DCC), to intensify the work of organization creation, fix the election preparations and the accountability of the officials. The session will include the top leaders of the party, members of the functioning committee, senior leaders and members of the All India Committee.
This Congress party’s sixth session in Gujarat- Jairam Ramesh
Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said, “This is the sixth session of Congress in Gujarat in the 140 -year history of the party.” He said, “The first such meeting of the Congress party in Gujarat was chaired by Surendra Nath Banerjee in Ahmedabad district between 23-26 December 1902 and the second meeting was held in Surat district of Gujarat on 26-27 December 1907 under the chairmanship of Ras Bihari Ghosh. After that the third session of the party in Gujarat was held on 27-28 December 1921 under the chairmanship of Hakim Ajmal Khan.”
Jairam said, “The fourth session of the Congress party was held in Haripura, Gujarat on February 19-21, 1938 under the chairmanship of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. The fifth such meeting of the Congress was held on 6-7 January 1961 in Bhavnagar district of Gujarat under the chairmanship of Neelam Sanjeev Reddy.”
The Congress General Secretary said, “For the sixth time in Gujarat, such a meeting of the Congress is being held in Ahmedabad on April 8 and 9, 2025 under the chairmanship of Mallikarjun Kharge.” Ramesh said, “The extended Congress Working Committee will meet on Tuesday (April 8) in the Sardar Patel Memorial Auditorium and the next day the meeting of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) will be held on the banks of Sabarmati between Sabarmati Ashram and Koharb Ashram.”
Party session being held before Bihar assembly elections
This session of the party is going to be held at a time when the defeat in Maharashtra, Haryana and Delhi assembly elections after performing well in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections has shocked its hopes.
