Mallikarjun kharge on emergency: Mallikarjun Kharge retaliated on the BJP, which is surrounded by the Congress on the Emergency, saying that the Modi government is talking about emergency to hide the Congress’s nationwide constitution and hide its failures, while the truth is that the unannounced emergency has been applicable in the country for the last 11 years.

Addressing a press conference at the Congress Headquarters Indira Bhavan, the Congress President and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kherge said that the Modi government is raising the issue of emergency after 50 years to hide its failures on issues like inflation, unemployment, corruption, economic plight. If the constitution is in crisis then it is only because of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Targeting the BJP-RSS, Congress President Kharge said that those who have not contributed to the independence and constitution of the country, those who had ever burnt the effigy of the Constitution and Babasaheb Ambedkar, are talking about the honor of the Constitution today. He said that the RSS said that there are no parts of Manusmriti in the Constitution, so they will not accept it.

‘Government is handing over the property of the country to select industrialists’
The Congress President said that the Modi government is suppressing freedom of expression and the voice of the opposition is being suppressed. If a student says something in the country, then he is said to be a traitor and journalists are put in jail on asking the necessary questions. He said that the government is handing over the property of the country to select industrialists.

Kharge said that the Modi government is constantly weakening the federal structure of the country and the opposition-intellect is being discriminated against. He also mentioned the governors to keep the public interest bills pending or send them back. He said that the people of the country worked to show the mirror to the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections. After the election, Modi had to bow before the same constitution, which his supporters were talking about converting more than 400 seats.

The Congress President called the Election Commission a puppet of the Modi government. He questioned the impartiality of the Commission citing the unusual increase in the number of voters in the voter list between the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Maharashtra.

‘Trying to take political advantage of Pahalgam terror attack’
The Congress President said that after the Pahalgam terror attack, the whole country and all opposition parties stood with the government, but Modi is trying to take political advantage of this issue to win elections in Bihar. He also said that the government did not accept the demand of the opposition to call an all -party meeting under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister and a special session of Parliament.

Kharge also lashed out at Prime Minister Modi regarding the statements of US President Donald Trump. He said that Modi is silent on Trump’s claims of ceasefire between Indo-Pak. He taunted that Narendra Modi wants to become a world guru, but is afraid of Trump. Referring to the Manipur violence, he asked why the Prime Minister did not go there till date, while the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi went there and met the victims.
