Congress MP Shashi Tharoor reacted to his cryptic bird post on Saturday (June 28, 2025), which was obviously taken to the top leadership of the party. Tharoor refused to publicly talk about his alleged differences with the Congress party.
Talking to reporters during an event in Ahmedabad, he said that if there are any issues to discuss, then they will be discussed privately. I am not going to fall here in political issues and when the time comes, I will do so.
Shashi Tharoor’s growing differences with the Congress party have become even more clear after his recent statements and social media posts, which seem to challenge the leadership of the party. Tharoor’s post states that do not ask for permission to fly, the wings are yours and the sky is no one.
Congress leader Manikam Tagore targeted without naming
Congress leader Manikam Tagore reacted to this post of Tharoor. He said without naming anyone, do not ask for permission to fly. Birds do not require permission to fly, but in today’s time an independent bird should also see the sky. The eagle, vulture and eagle are always hunting. Freedom is not free, especially when hunters wear patriotic like wings.

Kharge will be irritated for praising PM Modi
Apart from this, the tension between Tharoor and the Congress leadership increased further when he praised PM Modi’s diplomacy during Operation Sindoor in an article in The Hindu, in which his energy was described as a property for India’s global status. This article was also shared by the PMO.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge indirectly reprimanded him, suggesting that his praise of PM Modi was not good. He asked that we say that the nation is first, but some people consider Modi to be first, the country later. However, Tharoor clarified that his comment reflects the national interest and not support for the BJP.
