Karnataka Congress leader KN Rajanna resigned from the post of Cooperative Minister in the Siddaramaiah government on Monday (August 11, 2025). It is being claimed that KN Rajanna decided to leave the post after the party high command demanded his resignation. Rajanna’s resignation has also been accepted.
KN Rajanna had criticized the allegations of votes theft by Rahul Gandhi. He had expressed concern that the Congress party failed to remove the alleged flaws in the voter list before the election. The party should be embarrassed, because these irregularities occurred before our eyes. Along with this, he also questioned the Congress party and said that the voter list was prepared when the Congress was in power.
Voter list ready to remain in power of Congress
KN Rajanna questioned the Congress and said, ‘Was everyone sitting silently with closure of his eyes? The party should be ashamed. The Karnataka Minister told PTI that if we start talking on such things, then different opinions will come out. The voter list was ready when our government was in power. At that time, was the Congress sitting quietly with its eyes closed?
He further said that these irregularities took place, this is true. There is nothing to lie in it. We should be ashamed, because these irregularities occurred in front of our eyes. At a time when the party should have lodged an objection, it kept quiet.
Rajanna’s remarks resent in Congress
Leader KN Rajanna said, “The Congress did not pay attention to it at that time, so he will have to be ready again.” Regarding disturbances in the election, he said that there was truly fraud in Mahadevpura. A person was registered at three different places and voted at all three places. When the draft of the voter list is being prepared, then we should keep an eye and objections, which is our responsibility. At that time we kept quiet, but now we are talking about it.
At the same time, the prominent leaders of the Congress party are angry with this comment of Rajanna. Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivkumar said that Rajanna is completely guilty and the party leadership will respond to his comment.
