The Congress has announced to start a fellowship program in the name of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh to connect the young professionals with the party. ‘Dr. Under the Manmohan Singh Fellow Program, 50 mid-career professionals from all over the country will be selected every year who want to contribute to the society through politics.
In a press conference held at the Congress office located in New Delhi, Pawan Kheda, President of the Media and Publicity Department of Congress, in -charge of Jharkhand Congress K.K. Raju and Professional Congress and Data Analytics Department Chairman Praveen Chakraborty made this announcement. Posting about this program on X, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi said, ‘The time has come that the most talented people of India should bring their power to politics. Dr. Manmohan Singh Fellow Program is our call for mid-career professionals to step into public life, lead honestly and help in building a progressive and inclusive India ‘.
‘Leaded leaders of the party will train selected 50 professionals’
Congress leader Praveen Chakraborty said that 50 professionals selected under this program will train prominent leaders within the party and they will be employed in the party related work. This program will give participants an opportunity to fulfill real responsibility in politics. Chakraborty said that a lot is happening in India and around the world at this time, but we are arguing on Hindu-Muslim laws.

He said that US President Donald Trump has announced heavy tariffs on many countries including India. Given the current global conditions, India needs to adopt a concrete economic approach. At this critical point, there is a shortage of leader like Dr. Manmohan Singh, who could have given advice and guidance to bring us out of this situation. He said that after the Russian attack on Ukraine, Dr. Singh was asked how to save his economy from this crisis, he suggested to create a group of young professionals to consider these issues and find solutions. For this purpose, this fellowship program is being started.
‘Dr. Manmohan Singh Fellow Program will be free for free’
Pawan Kheda, president of the media and publicity department of the Congress, said that there are many people in the country who were first professional and then came into politics. Among them, the name of Dr. Manmohan Singh comes very high. From Moti Lal Nehru to Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Patel, all the leading names were also first professional in the freedom movement. The Congress has always given professionals an opportunity to come forward in politics. This fellowship program is being started by furthering this tradition.
Pawan Kheda said that no fees will be charged for this. It will be completely free and the party will soon release the application for its selection process. Many senior leaders of the party will be mentor of this fellowship program, Rahul Gandhi will also be a mentor.
