The suicide was revealed when the girl’s family reached the hotel finding her. He tried to open the room by knocking on the door but no response was received.
After this the police was called. When the police broke the door, both were found dead inside. Police sent the bodies of both for postmortem and sealed the hotel room.
According to police, the girl who died was a B.Ed. Second Year student at Dera Sacha Sauda College. Both stayed in the hotel since yesterday (11 August).
The girl was the eldest of her 3 sisters. Her father is constable in Haryana Police and is posted at Bhattu police station in Fatehabad.
The room in which the young woman stayed, was built on the upper floor of the hotel building. The police sealed the ladder leading to that floor.

- First the young man came, later the girl: Harshpreet, the manager of Hotel Legend at Lal Batti Chowk, Sirsa, said that a young man named Surendra of the village of Rajkheda (Ellenabad) came to the hotel on Monday morning. He deposited the ID of a woman named Manju of Shahpuria village and booked room number 203. Surendra came alone in the morning. Manju reached the hotel after noon.

- The family tried to open the gate: According to Harshpreet, the employee at the hotel reception in the night shift told the girl’s family that Manju stayed in room number 203 with a young man. Hearing this, family members erupted. The hotel employee immediately called Dial-112. Meanwhile, the girl’s family tried to open the door of the room, but the latch was closed from inside.
- Police broke the gate: The manager said that the police of Dial-112 reached the spot shortly after. The policemen also knocked on the gate of the room, but did not get an answer from inside. When the policemen broke the gate and entered inside, Surendra’s body was hanging on the fan and Manju was lying on the bed. It seemed as if Manju had poisoned.
